John Lubbock is the Founder and Principal Conductor of the Orchestra of St John’s, which boasts some of the most exceptional musicians in the UK and Europe. From day one, Lubbock’s ambition was to create an orchestra that would serve the wider community, taking high quality music to those who might otherwise have little or no experience of it.
Lubbock and the OSJ have performed all over the world at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonie and London’s Royal Albert Hall and Royal Festival Hall. They have undertaken major tours together to Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the UK and USA, collaborating with such eminent soloists as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Yo-Yo Ma, Shlomo Mintz, Yefim Bronfman and Dame Evelyn Glennie, and have appeared at the Bulgarian, Bratislava and Turku festivals.
